A Word about BFit & Well
"Three years ago I was at a very low place in my life. I had been in Anchorage for ten years, and had no friends. I was 69 years old, overweight, lethargic, depressed, and totally unmotivated. One night I was watching TV and I saw an advertisement for "bfit&well". The ad caught my eye because it showed women my age working out, and it looked like they were having fun. I made the decision to do what the ad suggested, and "call Bonnie". I called the next day and set up an appointment. When I met with Bonnie, she was caring, and encouraging. I decided to give the class a try the next morning. I was so nervous before I got to class. All these thoughts kept running through my head, "What if no one talks to me? What if I can't keep up, What if I look ridiculous?" It took everything I had to walk through that door. Once I got there, I quickly began to realize that my fears were unfounded. This place wasn't like other gyms I had been to. People greeted me and introduced themselves. Once we got to working out, it became clear that this was a "no pressure, no judgement" zone. I received clear, precise instructions on how to do the various exercises. I was encouraged to do my best, but not pressured to do more than I was capable of. Things were adapted to my skill and ability level. Everyone was friendly and supportive, and we LAUGHED WHILE WORKING OUT! It was fantastic! After class, my body ached, but I felt wonderful! The next day I told Bonnie that I didn't need any more trial sessions, I was in! During the first three months of attending class four times a week, I couldn't believe the difference I began to see in myself. I lost weight, I lost inches, I gained strength, I gained stamina, and I gained friends.
Fast forward three years, and I am about to end my bfit journey because I am moving, with my family, to Massachusetts. As I began doing all of the things involved in selling a house, and moving; the intensive cleaning, the packing and moving of boxes and furniture. It suddenly occurred to me that, if not for Bonnie, and bfit&well, I never would have had the strength and stamina to accomplish even half of what I managed to get done.
I have so much for which to thank Bonnie and her wonderful program. I am a much happier person now. I am proud of the things I have accomplished. I am amazed that I now have some muscles. I love the fact that I can now take a walk without dying by the time I get to the end of my street. I cherish Bonnie for always being there for me. She has been my coach, my cheerleader, my confidant, my confessor, and most of all, my friend. I also cherish the wonderful people in the class who have shared this journey with me. They were always there to support me, encourage me, and laugh with me. I made close friendships that will endure forever. Joining bfit&well was the best decision I have ever made. I will be eternally grateful to, and carry love in my heart, for Bonnie, and all my classmates, till the end of time.
Thank you, Bonnie, from the bottom of my heart!
I love you!"
