What’s Going to Keep You From Piling on the Pounds in 2011?

What’s going to keep you from piling on the pounds in 2011? Isn’t that what happened in 2010? What will make the difference this year? How about a Boot Camp style workout and mindful eating?

Have you ever noticed how you react to a buffet line? It’s almost like a feeding frenzy, huh? Do you do mindful eating or do you just shove the food in because it’s there?

Why not decide that this year you’ll handle food choices with a different attitude? When you look at the foods available, make a decision and say to yourself or out loud for that matter, I CHOOSE to eat this or I CHOOSE to eat that….not I can’t eat that or I shouldn’t eat that! This puts you in control. You have just empowered yourself. What an in-control feeling that promotes.

As for the exercise component, and that’s super important, why not sign up for a boot camp style workout  that will take you from fat to fit in a few short weeks?

Boot Camp classes are cool because they get you in and out quickly.  Even though the class is only 40-45 minutes long you know that you worked and really challenged your muscles even your cardio vascular system!

The way you’ll be working is two-fold. You will work hard for 30-60 seconds and then you’ll do active recovery for 90-120 seconds. You get your heart rate up and then you give it time to come back down. Research has proven that doing a 30-40 minute Boot Camp (BC) style program gives you optimal fitness results. Comparing a BC style workout to a 45-60 minute steady state treadmill work out proved that the BC workout actually uses more calories at the time of the class and the residual calorie burn lasts about 42 hours. The steady-state 60 minute treadmill workout might use 400 calories (4 mph) but that’s it, there is no after burn.

So, why would you spend an hour working out when you can get better results in 30-40 minutes? Since we are all time challenged, this just sounds a lot smarter.

There is just 1 day before 2011 begins.  I am challenging you to sign up for a bfit & well boot camp style workout as a proactive move to stave off the usual weight gain and lethargic feeling that comes with eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) and too little exercise!!
